Many people are excited for the Seven Hills Prom this year. While we know that the prom will take place on Saturday, April 18th, the exact time and location have not yet been revealed.
Students typically want to have a fun venue, and they are also looking forward to being with their friends on the dance floor. Junior John Haney said, “I hope that it is somewhere creative and special. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and just being around my guys.”
A big topic for the past few years has been the increased ticket prices for prom. Haney claimed that he was fine with it, and he understood it, especially being on 7Up himself. He realized funding for school dances is low, and sometimes you have to “break even with the money” to make sure students have a good experience at the dance. Haney also thought that Seven Hills should bring artists like Jon Batiste to perform at prom, even if it costs more, because he thinks it would be very entertaining for the whole school.
Beyond the venue and entertainment, students also have opinions on whether or not the prom should include all of the grades. Senior Tyler Imrie said, “If you had asked me when I was a freshman and sophomore, I would have said that I think it is a smart idea, considering how our school is not very big, but now that I am a senior, I feel like it should just be the juniors and seniors.” Regarding the price increase on prom tickets in recent years, Imrie is fine with it, stating, “You get what you pay for.”

Imrie said that he hopes that the prom is at the Cincinnati Ballet because that is where it was when he was a freshman, and he said that it was the best one he has gone to and an overall great experience. Imrie also thought that a good addition to prom would be to have a basketball hoop and court where students can play basketball against each other. He thought that it would be exciting and give more variety to the event.
In conclusion, people hope that prom is at an exciting place in Cincinnati and are looking forward to hanging out with their friends, as well as hoping for some new additions to the dance.
