The biggest thing on everyone’s list is clothing. With graduation nearing, seniors are definitely looking into buying the college basics. Senior Faith McLennan thinks that sweatshirts are a popular item that everyone is asking for, but she has one specific brand in mind: “A Parke sweatshirt. Everyone wants one, and they’re always sold out. Just sweatshirts in general are really popular, and the mock necks are trending.” Senior Siena Motch seemed to agree with the warm, comfy classic theme: “I would say, like, sweaters. I feel like everyone always wants a bunch of sweaters. Like a good cardigan.” So if you do not know what to add to your list, you should consider adding a good classic sweatshirt or sweater to your list. A bigger item,which McLennan recommends asking for is a new iPhone:“I feel like a big gift is the new iPhone, the iPhone 17.” Going the technology route, a new computer or iPadmakes the holidays the perfect time to get those nicer things, especially with graduation coming closer for the seniors. If you are into fitness, an Oura Ring is a stylish tech piece that’s good for health and activity. Another good ask is a new camera. The Canon G7X is currently a very popular camera and is worth it.
While McLennan recommends some technology, Motch recommends a jacket: “I would say a jacket, a new jacket”. A good denim or leather jacket is a good staple for college. Likewise, a puffer jacket would also be nice and very useful, especially if you are going to college in a colder climate. You can find these jackets at stores like The North Face, Patagonia, Aritzia, or Alo.
Finally, a vacation is another big gift that many people ask their parents for. McLennan said she’d pick, “Greece, Italy or Paris. Somewhere you can take cute photos and the vibes are amazing. Also, a location to try new foods would be so fun.” Motch’s pick was Banff, Canada: “I would say right now I want to go to Banff… because it’s gorgeous up there.” Experiences can sometimes be the greatest gifts of all, even if it’s just to go to a nearby city to attend a new concert or weekend getaway, or if it’s somewhere across the globe.
A few more smaller, realistic items compared to a trip to Greece could be a Hydroflask water bottle, a restock on makeup or skincare, a new bedding set, a comfy pajama set, or even just a gift card to your favorite food place. Putting together your holiday wishlist doesn’t have to be hard or stressful. Hopefully McLennan’s and Motch’s thoughts could potentially help you create your dream list, getting you all the things you want and need.
