With the holiday season creeping around the corner, students at Seven Hills High School are beginning to dream about the things that will appear under their Christmas tree this year. As I was perfectly curating my wishlist, it made me wonder what other students had asked for. I sent out a form to the student body, and the results proved to be quite interesting. Here are the top five items most frequently making their way onto Seven Hills students’ Christmas wish lists this year.
The number one most asked-for item this year is clothing, which did not surprise me at all. Fashion plays a huge part in our daily lives, which explains why it reigns supreme. Whether it’s high-end shoes like Golden Goose sneakers or daily essentials such as Brandy Melville sweatpants, students are looking to update their wardrobes in all capacities. Casual wear and standout statement pieces dominated wish lists this year, highlighting the importance of staying fashionable in high school.
Technology takes the cake as the second most popular item on students’ wishlists. The iPhone 16, new AirPods, and the PS5 were among the most wanted gadgets this year, as students look to stay connected with friends and entertained. Whether upgrading their current devices or trying the newest tech, these items are fun for everyone and also practical. With tons of socializing and lots of school work tied to technology, it does not surprise me that technology remains a top priority this Christmas season.
Money claimed to be the third most popular item, ranging from cash to gift cards. Unlike specific gifts, cash provides the freedom to go on a shopping spree, buy concert tickets, or add to your savings account. Money is also a safe and easy item to give to someone, as it is flexible and thoughtful, and many things can be done with it. It’s clear that this year, students seek independence and flexibility when choosing gifts.
Next up, self-care items took the fourth spot on wishlists. Popular self-care items included face lotions, face masks, and nail polish. This year, comfort and wellness played a huge part in shaping students’ wishlists, especially as school gets harder as the year progresses. Self-care items are meaningful and practical gifts for everyone.
Last but not least, uber-expensive items placed last on students’ wishlists for this Christmas season. From new pets to fancy cars, extravagant gifts may not be the most realistic for everyone, but hey, it’s always fun to ask. While these requests are impossible to obtain for most students, it’s exciting and optimistic to dream big and plan out your ultimate Christmas wish list.
To wrap things up, the Christmas wish lists of Seven Hills students reflect big dreams and creativity, as well as practicality. Between new clothing, cool tech, cash, and self-care items, you can’t go wrong.
