Being Student Body President is about more than attending meetings or hosting assemblies—it’s about creating an engaged school community. Our president, Nicholas Stein, balances a packed schedule of announcements, classes, sports, and extracurriculars while staying focused on connecting with students. Whether he is running intramural sports or sharing the weather forecast, Stein works tirelessly to make Seven Hills a place where students feel involved and excited. His leadership isn’t defined by titles but by how deeply he cares about the student body and creating a positive, inclusive environment.
Due to his packed schedule with morning announcements, classes, intramurals, and extracurriculars, Stein is usually seen rushing around the school. Stein’s advisor, Upper School science teacher Tim Drew, said, “He comes into advisory each day with a bottle of Naked Juice, and then he rushes out of advisory to make announcements.” When asked about Stein’s observed morning routine, senior Everett Rinaldi said, “He’ll check the forecast in the morning for Weather Wednesday, then rush to the office for morning announcements.” Stein is Seven Hill’s most reliable meteorologist, making Wednesday’s morning announcements exciting because we hear about the predicted forecast for the day or week. After the rush of advisory and morning announcements subside, Stein settles into his first two classes. Still, between first and second bell he is often being pulled aside by either a student or administrator for a quick meeting.
Lunch is Stein’s busiest time as he usually runs or referees an intramural sports game, meets with the student government, or tries to wrap up some last-minute homework. One might think all this responsibility and chaos would be overwhelming, but Stein welcomes this craze with excitement. Drew said, “Nicholas likes being busy,” everyone knows Stein loves staying engaged and occupied.
Stein has a range of hobbies that help him relate to and befriend any student. This range of hobbies is widely observable, and Rinaldi said, “He has so many things that he’s interested in, so many things he’s involved in.” Throughout the year, Stein can be seen on three varsity sports teams, running the sports broadcasting club, leading intramural tournaments, and, of course, discussing his thoughts on the weather. He created all these clubs and opportunities because of his passion for sports and dedication to creating an engaged student community. Stein has been actively interested in meteorology for the majority of his life and plans to stay engaged with this passion in the future. Stein applies all his interests when creating new ideas to boost student engagement. Stein said, “Seeing students engage in the stuff we do is the most rewarding part, and that makes us feel good because that means we’ve accomplished our goals.” As president, it is vital to foster a fun, excited, and engaged student body, which the student government works to promote every day.” For Stein, the true measure of success isn’t in titles or achievements—it’s in seeing students actively involved and enjoying the school community. His leadership style focuses on making sure every student feels seen, heard, and included. Stein’s passion for fostering a positive, engaging environment shows that he’s not just focused on his role as president but on truly making a difference in the lives of his peers.
The Student Body President is a liaison between the student body and the administration. Through his hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm, Stein has earned the respect and admiration of students and faculty. The teacher’s appreciation and respect for Stein are evident, and Drew said, “He’s a good listener; he’s a good leader.” His ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while staying connected to his peers is a testament to his leadership and passion for making a positive impact. As he continues to foster a sense of unity and excitement across campus, it’s clear that Stein is not just a student body president—he’s a true leader for his school community.
Stein leaves a lasting effect on our community through his day-to-day interactions and large-scale plans to improve school spirit. After going through the campaigning process and being elected, Stein leaves advice for any future students running for president. Stein said, “You have to be yourself, show the school how you can make a change by being an active member of the community, and in your speech, know what energy you’re gonna bring.” With the school year still in full swing, there’s no doubt that Stein will continue to inspire and lead, ensuring that Seven Hills remains a place where students are always engaged, involved, and ready for what’s next.
